Allan Tannenbaum is an accredited photo-journalist who covers a broad spectrum of topics ranging from wars to celebrities. He became interested in photography in the 1960’s while in San Francisco. Tannenbaum taught himself everything about the camera and majored in art in college. He fell into photo-journalism because he loved how it was a way of communicating with the world, meeting people, seeing places, and telling stories. He was fascinated with creating beauty out of a chaotic situation. In 1997 he held an exhibit in France where he showcased his work from NYC in the 1970’s entitled, “Soho Blues.” He also published a book about New York in the 70’s, which showcased the decade through various outlets such as music and politics.
